The one thing people mention in reviews almost as often as the coffee. A house special at our koffiebar in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid, served by the slice from 7:00.
A house special
We are a coffee bar first, so the counter is short: a canélé, a croissant, bread pudding, banana bread, and the cheesecake. The cheesecake is the one that gets photographed, and the one people mention in their reviews. It is cut thick and sits on the counter until it runs out.
How to have it
Most people order it in the late morning, with a cortado or a flat white. It also does a lot for a pot of oolong: the Phoenix Mi Lan Xiang in particular. Slices go to take away in a box if you would rather eat it in Vondelpark, which is a ten-minute walk.

- Where can I get good cheesecake in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid?
- At Akhi 'n Friends on Ruysdaelstraat, a few minutes from Museumplein and the Rijksmuseum. The cheesecake is a house special and is on the counter every day we are open, Tuesday to Sunday from 7:00 to 15:00.
- How much is a slice?
- A slice is €6.50. Prices may change with the season.
- Can I take cheesecake away?
- Yes. Ask for a slice to go at the counter. If you want more than a couple of slices for an occasion, ask us in advance and we will see what we can do.
- What should I drink with it?
- A cortado or a hand brew if you are on coffee. If you are on tea, the Phoenix Mi Lan Xiang oolong or the Ceylon both cut through the cream nicely.
